Laser therapy utilizes specific wavelengths of light to achieve therapeutic benefits, such as faster healing, pain relief, enhanced circulation, and reduced inflammation.
The laser emits photons, which are packets of light energy that penetrate deep into tissues without causing harm. These photons are absorbed by the mitochondria in cells, triggering a process known as photo-bio-modulation. This stimulates the production of ATP, the essential energy source cells need for repair and regeneration. Impaired or damaged cells typically struggle to produce ATP efficiently. By increasing ATP levels, laser therapy promotes healthier cells, tissues, and overall well-being.
Laser therapy is often combined with other treatments, including pain medications, chiropractic care, massage, and electrotherapy. It is also commonly used post-surgery and after dental procedures.
